Melinda was born and raised in San Antonio, Texas. She received her Bachelor’s degree in Social Work from The University of Texas and earned her Master’s at The Worden School of Social Work at Our Lady of the Lake. She has worked with troubled youth in Texas and California and served as the Director of the National Runaway Hotline before becoming a stay-at-home mom. She joined the staff at GCM as an administrative assistant in 2010.
Melinda is happily married to Matt who has served as a pastor in Austin since 1989. They have 3 children; a daughter at UT, a son coaching lacrosse at York College of Pennsylvania, and their youngest daughter recently started at Baylor. Melinda enjoys cake and cookie decorating and loves anything vintage. She serves her community in many ways, including teaching children’s Sunday school and baking for “Bake-A-Wish”, an agency that provides birthday cakes for children in shelters and foster homes in the Austin area.
